- 1 En hierna het Dawid die Filistyne verslaan en hulle onderwerp; en hy het Gat met sy onderhorige plekke uit die hand van die Filistyne geneem.
- 2 Hy het ook die Moabiete verslaan, sodat die Moabiete Dawid se belastingpligtige knegte geword het.
- 3 Dawid het ook Hadaréser, die koning van Soba, na Hamat toe verslaan, toe hy getrek het om sy mag aan die Eufraatrivier te bevestig.
- 4 En Dawid het van hom duisend strydwaens en sewe duisend perderuiters en twintig duisend man voetgangers afgeneem; en Dawid het al die trekperde se hakskeensenings afgesny, maar honderd trekperde daarvan laat oorbly.
- 5 En die Arameërs van Damaskus het gekom om Hadaréser, die koning van Soba, te help; maar Dawid het onder die Arameërs twee en twintig duisend man verslaan.
- 6 En Dawid het wagposte in Aram-Damaskus geplaas, sodat die Arameërs Dawid se belastingpligtige knegte was; en die HERE het Dawid die oorwinning gegee oral waar hy getrek het.
- 7 En Dawid het die goue skilde geneem wat die dienaars van Hadaréser gedra het, en dit na Jerusalem gebring.
- 8 En uit Tibhat en uit Kun, stede van Hadaréser, het Dawid ontsaglik veel koper weggeneem; daarvan het Salomo die kopersee en die pilare en die kopergereedskappe gemaak.
- 9 Toe Toü, die koning van Hamat, hoor dat Dawid die hele leërmag van Hadaréser, die koning van Soba, verslaan het,
- 10 stuur hy sy seun Hadóram na koning Dawid om hom na die welstand te vra en hom geluk te wens dat hy teen Hadaréser geveg en hom verslaan het, want Hadaréser was 'n vyand van Toü. Ook allerhande goue en silwer— en kopervoorwerpe het hy saamgebring.
- 11 Dit het koning Dawid ook aan die HERE geheilig saam met die silwer en die goud wat hy van al die nasies geneem het, van die Edomiete en van die Moabiete en van die kinders van Ammon en van die Filistyne en van die Amalekiete.
- 12 Ook het Abísai, die seun van Serúja, die Edomiete in die Soutdal verslaan, agttien duisend.
- 13 En hy het wagposte in Edom geplaas, sodat al die Edomiete knegte van Dawid geword het; en die HERE het Dawid die oorwinning gegee oral waar hy getrek het.
- 14 En Dawid het oor die hele Israel geregeer en reg en geregtigheid aan sy hele volk gedoen.
- 15 En Joab, die seun van Serúja, was oor die leër; en Jósafat, die seun van Ahílud, was kanselier.
- 16 En Sadok, die seun van Ahítub, en Ahiméleg, die seun van Abjatar, was priesters, en Sausa was skrywer.
- 17 En Benája, die seun van Jójada, was oor die Kreti en die Pleti, en die oudste seuns van Dawid was in diens van die koning.

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
