    2 Samuel 14
    • 1   Joab, filo de Ceruja, rimarkis, ke la koro de la reĝo plifavoriĝis por Abŝalom.
    • 2   Kaj Joab sendis en Tekoan kaj venigis de tie saĝan virinon, kaj diris al ŝi: Ŝajnigu vin funebranta kaj metu sur vin funebrajn vestojn, kaj ne ŝmiru vin per oleo, kaj estu kiel virino, kiu jam de longe funebras pro mortinto;

    • 13   Kaj la virino diris: Kial do vi tiel pensas pri la popolo de Dio? eldirante tian vorton, la reĝo fariĝas kvazaŭ kulpulo, ke li ne revenigas sian elpeliton.
    • 14   Ĉar ni devas morti, kaj ni similas al akvo, kiu estas verŝata sur la teron kaj kiun oni ne povas enkolekti; sed Dio ne volas pereigi animon; Li pripensas, ke forpuŝito ne estu forpuŝata ankaŭ de Li.
    • 15   Nur nun mi venis, por diri tion al la reĝo, mia sinjoro, ĉar la popolo min timigis; sed via sklavino diris al si: Mi provos paroli al la reĝo; eble la reĝo plenumos la vorton de sia sklavino;
    • 16   eble la reĝo aŭskultos, por savi sian sklavinon el la mano de tiu homo, kiu volas ekstermi min kaj mian filon kune el la heredaĵo de Dio.
    • 17   Kaj via sklavino diris al si: La vorto de mia sinjoro la reĝo donos trankvilecon; ĉar kiel anĝelo de Dio, tiel estas mia sinjoro la reĝo, por distingi la bonon kaj malbonon; kaj la Eternulo, via Dio, estos kun vi.
    • 18   Tiam ekparolis la reĝo, kaj diris al la virino: Mi petas, kaŝu antaŭ mi nenion, pri kio mi demandos vin. Kaj la virino diris: Mia sinjoro la reĝo volu paroli.
    • 19   Kaj la reĝo diris: Ĉu ne la mano de Joab estas kun vi en ĉio ĉi tio? Kaj la virino respondis kaj diris: Vere, kiel vivas via animo, mia sinjoro, ho reĝo, ne estas eble dekliniĝi dekstren nek maldekstren de ĉio, kion diris mia sinjoro la reĝo; ĉar via sklavo Joab tion ordonis al mi, kaj li inspiris al via sklavino ĉiujn ĉi tiujn vortojn.

Basic Hash Usage Explained

At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.

We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.

Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.

Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.

Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.

The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
