Use your session key and favorite verse to retain your notes and tags, as well as share them with others.
Whenever you make your first note or tag a verse on GetBible you will be prompted to choose a favorite verse. This can be any verse but it would be good to make it memorable. This verse, together with your session id, becomes you "secret key" to either restore or share you session.
Navigate the Bible
The top navbar provide a seamless navigation experience. You can effortlessly navigate through the various menu items in the navbar.
- Active:
- This is the primary nav item where you are currently reading, showing your location in the Bible.
- Translations:
- Explore a range of Bible translations to find the version that speaks your tongue.
- Books:
- Search for relevant books of the Bible, as it is available per translation. The chapters will load for a book once you've made a book selection.
- Chapters:
- Select a chapter to delve deeper into the chosen book of the Bible. This will update your current tab.
- Settings:
- Personalize your reading experience with adjustable settings for text size, bookmarks, highlighting, and more.
- Details:
- Access comprehensive details about the currently active translation.
Notes - Your Thoughts
Meditating on the Word is a key part of spiritual growth. Our application gives you access to an integrated note-making feature. As you ponder the scriptures, you can capture your thoughts, reflections, and insights directly in the app. This process not only deepens your understanding, but also creates a personalized record of your spiritual journey.
- Create a Note:
- Click on the verse number and you will be given the option to create a note.
- Edit a Note:
- Click the note icon under a verse to easily add to or edit any note to reflect your understanding.
- Delete a Note:
- If you ever want to remove a note, click on the note and clear the contents.
- System Notes:
- GetBible comes preloaded with notes. You can edit these notes, or even delete them, but be sure you would never see them again in you session.
Tags - Your Cross Reference
Our application uses 'Tags' as a feature that enables you to create your own cross-references within the Bible. As you journey through the scriptures, you can link verses together based on themes, concepts, or personal insights, enhancing your study and comprehension.
- Tag a Verse
- Click a verse number, select TAGS at the bottom of the pop-up page. You can now add a tag by simply dragging the available tag into the active field.
- Remove a Tag from a Verse
- Similarly, drag an active tag back to the available field, which will automatically untag the verse.
- System Tags
- Please note that system tags come preloaded and cannot be untagged from a verse. To these verses you can only add your own tags.

The Components
At Get Bible we want to encourage studying and sharing the Bible. With the persistent session you are able to save your tags and notes anonymously within the Bible application as you study and tag verses. Not only can you return to your session and share these personal insights across different devices, but you can also set unique names for your active sessions and easily switch between them. This guide explains how to create and manage a persistent session.
The following components makes up your active session.
- Persistent Session Key: This unique code links to your notes and tags.
- Favourite Verse: A personal verse that serves as a private password for editing. This key can be a variety of any of the book names of the Bible, up to 150 chapter numbers and 180 verse numbers.
- Unique Session Name: A custom name to help you easily identify different sessions.
Go ahead and create your Session today.

New Persistent Session
There are two ways to claim your new active session for the first time.
- Navigate to the Settings menu located at this icon .
- You can add a unique name to your current session for easy identification.
- The key you see is your persistent session key. You could save this for future access
- Once you have named your session, you can select "Update Persistent Session Name"
- You will now be prompted to select a favourite verse. It will be crucial that you remember this verse for future access.
The other way to claim a new persistent session is to simply tag a verse or create a new note. You will be immediatly be directed to the session view to set the name and verse for your session.

Share a Session
This is really simple, and you have control whether someone can contribute to your session or not.
Viewing Access Only
- Provide the persistent session key, without the favourite verse, to those you want to share your insights with.
- They can view, but not modify, your notes and tags.
- They can further share your session with others but with viewing access only.
Collaborative Access
- Provide the persistent session key with the favourite verse reference to those you want to share your insights with as well as give them access to add to your notes and tags.
- They will be able to view and modify your tags, notes, and session name as well as further share this session.

Previous Session
Do you want to access your session on a new device or did you receive a friend's session key?
You can at any time enter another key in the settings area and click Load Previous Persistent Session.
When, at any time, if you are not sure in which session you are or need to change to another active sessions, you select Sessions tab in Settings.
Here you can then load another session, or remove a session
