WORD Research this...Deuteronomy 8
- 1 All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathers.
- 2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, [and] to prove thee, to know what [was] in thy heart, whether thou wouldst keep his commandments, or not.
- 3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
- 4 Thy raiment hath not become old upon thee, neither hath thy foot swelled these forty years.
- 5 Thou shalt also consider in thy heart, that as a man chasteneth his son, [so] the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.
- 6 Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
- 7 For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains, and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;
- 8 A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig-trees, and pomegranates, a land of olive-oil, and honey;
- 9 A land in which thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any [thing] in it, a land whose stones [are] iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.
- 10 When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.
- 11 Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
- 12 Lest [when] thou hast eaten, and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt [in them];
- 13 And [when] thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold are increased, and all that thou hast is increased;
- 14 Then thy heart shall be lifted up, and thou shalt forget the LORD thy God (who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;)
- 15 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, [in which were] fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drouth, where [there was] no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
- 16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end.
- 17 And thou shalt say in thy heart, My power and the might of my hand hath gotten me this wealth.
- 18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for [it is] he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to thy fathers, as [it is] this day.
- 19 And it shall be, if thou shalt at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.
- 20 As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient to the voice of the LORD your God.

Webster Bible Electronic Format.
PUBLIC DOMAIN
February 1992
Beginning in July of 1991 the task of placing the Webster Bible text in electronic format began. The original purpose was to provide Larry Pierce, who produces the On-Line Bible program, with a more modern *public domain* text, similar in content and style to the AV but with a grammar that would provide better comprehension in todays English.
I plan on maintaining an accurate copy of the Webster text. Anyone finding an error should contact me; Anyone desiring to obtain the latest, most correct text, can find it on the Bible Foundation BBS, or can contact me in the following methods:

I would like to thank the Bible Foundation not only for scanning nearly the entire Webster Bible but for encouraging me to undertake this monumental work; particularly around page 20 when I realized what I had gotten myself into. Special thanks to Jerry Kingery of the Bible Foundation for scanning, and Jerry Hastings for doing some preliminary scan cleaning and making the texts available on the BBS.- Direction: LTR

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
We're united in our mission to preserve the integrity and authenticity of the Bible text. If you have questions or require additional information, please use our support system. We're here to assist and will respond promptly.
Thank you for your understanding and for being an integral part of the getBible community.
